Since time immemorial Indians have had the concept of ‘Upanishad’ – where students learnt at the feet of their masters. Although the world has evolved, this has been one of the only things that remained constant.

MindSpark has helped students connect with the brightest minds in their respective fields by launching the keynote lecture series last year.

We had ARVIND GUPTA, Maj. Gen. DIPANKAR BANERJEE (Retd.) and Dr. GOVIND SWARUP as our Keynote Speakers in MindSpark’11.

This year we plan to increase the extent of the lecture series to reach an even bigger audience.

Last year we had Arvind Gupta as one of our Keynote Speakers.

Arvind Gupta – 2008 recipient of Indira Gandhi Award for Science Popularization. Awarded the TWAS Regional Prize for Public Understanding and Popularization of Science in 2010. Received recognition from UNESCO, UNICEF, Disney Imagineering and Research, MIT Media Lab, among others.

He gave a lecture-demonstration on ‘Creative Science Activities.’

We had Maj. Gen. Dipankar Banerjee (Retd.) as our second keynote speaker.

Maj. Gen. Dipankar Banerjee (Retd.) – Awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal for service in the Army. Consultant to the United Nations of the Conventional Arms Register. Founder, Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies.

He spoke about ‘Securing India’s Geostrategic Spaces’

We had Dr. Govind Swarup as our third keynote speaker in MindSpark’11.

Dr. Govind Swarup – 2007 recipient of the Grote Reber Medal for lifetime, innovative achievement in radio astronomy. 1972 recipient of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize. Founder of world’s largest radio telescope – the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope.

He spoke about ‘Relevance of Education in Empowering India.’
