The BUSINESS PLAN Format
Teams have to fill the BUSINESS PLAN within 40 PAGES(Inclusive of all the
Sections of the Questionnaire.).
1. Business Concept
·
What precisely, is your product or service?
·
What is the uniqueness and innovativeness of your
product/service and what value does it create?
·
Does your product/service solve any particular problem?
2. Customers Analysis
·
Who will be the potential customers of your product?
·
Why will they purchase your product/service?
·
How will you reach your customers? State all the methods
of your Sales Strategy.
3. Market Analysis
·
What is the market in which your company will operate?
·
How big is your addressable market and what is the growth
rate of the market?
·
Who are your potential and current ,direct and indirect
competitors in market ?
·
What are the factors that give you competitive advantages
and disadvantages?
·
What stops other people from copying your product /
service?
4. Business System Description
·
How will the product/service be developed (possible plan
to build the product or Implementing the service to check the feasibility
option), manufactured, marketed and sold ?
·
How will you make money? What will be your Revenue
Mechanism?
5. Finance
·
How much capital will be required ?
·
How will you fulfill your capital requirements?
6. Team Description
·
How many members are in your team?
·
State any past experiences or specific skills of team
members.
·
How you going to fill the gaps in the team (if any) .
An Executive Summary
An executive Summary is a brief Business Plan. It should contain all the major
information that should be provided to the reader that tells him all about the
company. An Executive Summary need to be short and so attractive ( in terms of
contents ) that it automatically develops interest in the business.
A summary should at least include the following points:

The summary should not be more than 1600 words
(approx. 3-4 pages).
Business Plan Outline
1.
Cover: All sorts of contact details with a centralized
contact.
2.
Title Page: The page should contain the business name,
centralized contact details and the name and addresses of the principal owners.
3.
Table of Contents: A single page showing major topics
and page references.
4.
Executive Summary: A brief (one-page) statement of the
business plan objectives.
5. Description of the Business: Answer as many of the
following questions as are appropriate.

Licenses and Permits:

Is your business name registered with the secretary of state?

State how you will be affected by local zoning regulations.

What other licenses or permits will you be required to obtain?
7.
Management:
.
What is your business and management experience?
.
What education have you had, including both formal and informal courses
that contribute to your management abilities?

Do you have direct operational and/or management experience in this type
of business?
8.
The Market: Generally explain who needs your product
or service and how you plan to reach them.

What is the present size and growth potential of the market?

What percent of the market will you have now and in the future?

Competition: Briefly describe your competition and
tell how their operations are similar and dissimilar to yours. What is your
unique selling proposition and how will you use it to control your market?

Financial Data: Source and application of funds statement.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

The executive summary should not contain any pictures
(although tables and charts are allowed)
·
Executive summary must not be more than 8 pages.
·
Maximum participants allowed in a group must
not be more than 4.
· Separate page should be attached with
executive summary giving information about team members and mail id.
·
While sending soft copy should be named with
registration no. and also as a subject in mail.
·
Soft copy of executive summary is to be sent
on
businessplan@mind-spark.org.
·
Short listing of teams will be done on the basis of their
executive summaries.
·
7 Teams are to be short listed.
·
Intimation of the teams selected will be given until
25th
September,2008.
·
First you
have to submit soft copy or hard copy of the executive summary and business plan before 20th September, 2008.If you
haven’t registered, D.D. of Rs.200 should be sent on the address of college
before 20th September. Or it can be done by cash also.
·
The submissions have to be done online.
·
Rules and restrictions on Detailed Business Plan:
1.
The Business Plan should be submitted in PDF format.
2.
The first page of the B plan should contain
1.
Team ID
2.
Name of members
3.
Topic of B-plan
4.
Industry Category
5.
Colleges of the members
6.
e-mail id and contact number
3.
The font should be 12 pixels Times New Roman with a gap
of at least 1.5 between two lines
·
Participants will have to give their presentation in
Microsoft Power point.
·
Maximum 20 minutes for presentation and 5
minutes will be given for questions.
·
Picture clippings and graphs may be used.
·
At the time of competition 3 hard copies should be
submitted.
