FLIGHT OF ICARUS

Introduction

" This is air traffic control calling all aero heads… do you copy?"

Since time immemorial man has dreamt of flying. This dream was transformed into reality by the Greek hero Icarus when he attempted to escape from his exile in Crete using a pair of wax wings crafted by his father, Daedalus. But Icarus didn't succeed with wax. Even the Wright brothers were only moderately successful with wood. Hence, to make long flights possible, modern technology uses a wide range of metals. Explore the evolution and the latest technologies used in aeronautics at 'Flight of Icarus'. See models of various aircraft at the exhibition on all three days and as a special treat, witness a magnificent air show comprising of a plethora of flying models on the last day of MindSpark.

There is a lecture series during MindSpark '08 from eminent personalities in the field of aeronautics.
