The Java Contest
Introduction
Beans pits the best programming brains against each other, working with one of the most powerful programming languages of all time. So if Java happens to be your cup of coffee, this is the event for you.

- It will be a 2 day event to test the Coding skills in java,
logic, problem solving and time efficiency.
- It will consist of three rounds
1.Elimination round- MCQ test.
2.Programming Round - Coding round, This will
also be an elimination round.
3.Final Round - Software Development round.
- Participants for the second round will have
to code in Edit Plus.
- Participants for the final round will be
given to choose from the IDEs Net beans, Eclipse, Jbuilder and
Edit Plus.
Rules And Regulations:

Specification: Team of at max 2.
Elimination Round
- Objective test will be online based
on fundamentals of Java.

It will be MCQ test with the negative(1/4th negative) marking
technique.
- 60 questions will have to be attempted.
- There will be 20 questions each for 3
difficulty levels.
- Each difficulty level will have different
marks
- The participant will be informed whether his
answer is correct or not as soon as he selects an answer.
- Same question can be attempted any number of
times but if wrong answer is chosen marks will be deducted each
time.

30 minutes will be given for the objective test.
- The final score will be displayed to the
participant at the end of the test.
Programming Round:
- Top 15 teams from Objective test round will
qualify for this round.
- This round will test the implementation of
java concepts
- A series of problem statements will be given,
Each will contain the set of points allotted to it.
- The time frame will also be considered in
case of a tie.
- You can solve as many problems as you wish in
the time frame of 3 hours.
- No IDE will be provided. Programming is to be
done in EDITPLUS. API will be provided.
Final Round:
- Top 7 teams from the programming round will
qualify for the final round.
- Each problem statement will be carrying
different points depending on the difficulty level.
- The participant has to choose whether he
wants to go for higher points questions.
- A completed lower points problem will hold
more credit than an incomplete code for higher points problem.
- The time frame will be 5 hours.

- Time efficiency.
- Coding standards
- Modularity
- Developer friendly
- On the spot registration will depend on
availability of the seats.
- Decision of the judges will be final and
mandatory.
- Organisers have the right to change any of
the above rule without prior notice.
