SANDWICH PROJECT PRESENTATION COMPETITION

 

Introduction

It will be a single day event (Max. of 4-5 hrs.) that’ll include the presentation of sandwich training assignments and projects carried out by the candidate in his Engineering program.

 

There’ll be two rounds:
1) Online submission of the abstract and conclusion of project.
            Abstract example: designing a low cost automation for a weld shop offline station at XYZ company, etc. etc.

Conclusion example: A low cost automation was developed at the station and was implemented. Two workers were eliminated. Total cost of saving was ……

 

2) Final presentation of the report (in  Microsoft Power Point .ppt, .pptx format)

 

Rules:

1)     The competition is applicable to students currently undergoing course in B.E./ B.Tech. in following branches.

a)     Production  ( Sandwich)

b)     Metallurgy ( Sandwich)

2)     The applicant must have undergone sandwich training during July 2007 to December 2007 approved by  Board of Apprenticeship Training (Western Region), Mumbai vide its Letter No.Board/Sandwich/13123 dated 10th March 1997 under the provision of Apprentices (Amended) Act. 1973.

3)     A hardcopy of project must be brought on the day of event (if selected). It must include the certificate from the industry as well as from the institution.

4)     There’ll be individual entry only. If the candidate has executed the project in a team, he/she can still apply for the competition.

 

5)     Elimination Round:

Online/ postal submission of abstract and conclusion of project:

6)        Projects will be short-listed two days before the event date and results will be communicated to the candidates personally. The list will also be put up on MindSpark website.

7)      Final Round:

Final round will consist of power point presentation ( .ppt, ,.pptx formats only).

The slides should not exceed 20.

The presentation should include overall project activities like its scope, approach and result.

It is to be noted that study assignments should not be included in the presentation.

 

 

8)      Criteria for judging the winner:

- Project presentation
- Scope and completeness of project
- Project report
- Presentation skills
- Application of core Engineering knowledge utilized in the project.
- Advantage of the project to the company

 

9)     There won’t be on the spot registration

10)  Decision of judges will be final.

11)  The judging panel will consist of personnel from a reputed Industry and a professor from Production Engineering Department, College  of Engineering, Pune-5.

 

Participation fees:

Rs.100 per candidate.
